Week 39
Well, still here, waiting for Baby Perrus to make his or her debut. Jim and I are starting to get a little impatient, but at least we have work to keep us occupied. Who knows, maybe we can get a few date nights in before the baby gets here!

Week 37
Jim and I went to Holy Cross today for a scheduled external cephalic version, where the doctor attempts to turn the baby around by moving my stomache. In the meantime I had been doing some various exercises and have gone to see a chiropractor for an adjustment that was supposed to help. When we got to the hospital and they turned on the ultrasound, what do we see? An upside down baby! The baby at some point between Friday morning and Tuesday morning it decided that it would cooperate! So now that the baby is in the right position, all we have to do is wait.

Oh, and the Cougs won tonight!!

Week 36
Well, the doctor is going to try a proceedure on the 30th to see if they can flip the baby. When I first started feeling the baby's head underneath my ribs, I thought it was its tush and worried that my baby would be a hard-ass. But no, it's just hard-headed, like its mom! We'll keep you updated on the position of the baby. Who knows, maybe we'll have news on the 30th.

Week 35
Just got back from an ultrasound appointment. The doctor had asked us to schedule it since there hadn't appeared to be much growth since the last appointment. The good news is that the baby is doing fine and right on schedule size-wise. The bad news is that the baby is stubborn and has decided that it likes to be head up instead of head down. This makes having a natural childbirth questionnable. We'll see what happens.

Week 32
Not much more news at this point. Things are progressing very well, despite the constant heartburn! After serving Thanksgiving dinner to Jim's family, we'll start painting the nursery. Hopefully the furniture arrives soon! It's hard to believe that in just about 8 weeks Baby Perrus will be here and will need a real name - yikes!

Week 25
We've started childbirth classes this week. There are only two other couples in the class with us and it promises to be an education! We've decided to go with the Bradley Method and try to do things naturally with this birth. I know, tell me now - I'm crazy. I'll be sure to tell you how it goes in the end!

I've also finished making the quilt for the baby's room and the dust ruffle. You can see pictures of the quilt in the pictures page!

Jim and I registered at Babies R' Us. I'm very proud of him - even though it was Football Sunday, I didn't hear any complaining from him!

And kicking! The baby is kicking up a storm right now. I'm afraid that karma will come back and get me for not having any morning sickness with an over-active child!

Week 20
We had our 20-week ultrasound today! It was so amazing to look at how much our baby has grown in 13 weeks. The little guy was moving around so much during the interview and giving the technician a hard time. Wondering what the sex is? So are we! We chose not to find out (I'll need the extra motivation at the end).

Week 18
I'm in maternity clothes full time now. Oh boy!

Week 9
We arrived in Greece this week. In addition to some traveling, we were meeting Jim's parents who had already been in Greece for over 2 months. I had been practicing the entire plane ride how to say "We're going to have a baby" in Greek. Once she got over the shock of my speaking Greek, Jim's mom realized what I had said and was very excited. Jim translated for his dad. There were a few tears shed! We were also able to share the news with the rest of Jim's family living in Greece. It made this trip extra special - even though everyone treated me with kid gloves!

Week 8
We were finally able to tell my parents this week. Dexter helped me out. Mom put me on speaker phone so I could talk to him and I asked if he'd like to have a little cousin. One shriek later, my conversation with Dexter was over and Mom took over!

Week 7
We got the first glimpse of our little bean today. Since I was having some intense cramping, the doctor scheduled me for an ultrasound. There it was with the heartbeat nice and strong! Can't believe that little thing will grow into our baby soon!

Week 4
Well, Jim and I are on our way to parenthood! This morning I tested positive - talk about a life-changing moment! Jim was let in on our little secret this evening. When he arrived home, I asked him to open a box of stuff from work. He was thinking "I can't believe she's brought home MORE junk from work - we have too much in the house already!" When he opened the box a pink and a blue balloon came floating out. What a joyous day!
